Every 3rd Thursday of the month a VFW Post 630, 1303 East Main Street, Urbana IL. 

 

 

 The Challenge coins we had made for the Ball are available for sale. Information can be found here BALL 2025 page.   As of 02/07/2026 we still have several coins left. Only $10 each!

 

►4th Friday Dinner:

Our Detachments' 4th Friday dinner will be on 27 February 2026. It will be at The American Legion Post #24, 705 Bloomington Rd., Champaign IL 61820

 

 

►Veterans Breakfast:

The Glenwood Assisted Living of Mahomet will be having it's monthly Veteran's Breakfast on Friday, 27 February, 2026. Time is 0800-0900 (8am to 9am) and there is no cost. The facility is located at 1709 Division St. Mahomet IL.(Southside of Mahomet on Rt. 47).  We look forward to seeing you there! Glenwood will also be hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner to which the Detachment has been invited. Keep watch for date and time. 

 

 

Mark Your Calendars!

The Detachment was gifted the burial flag of Cpl. Richard L. Pittman, our eponym. We will be hosting an open house and flag dedication ceremony at 1600-1800 (4pm-6pm), Saturday, 21 February 2026, at VFW Post 630, 1303 E. Maint St, Urbana IL. The large flag is a 48 star flag, making it somewhat unique. We were also gifted with the burial flags of Cpl. Pittman's father (Frank) and brother (Donald). Please feel free to join us!
